Etihad Airways today reported revenues growth of 39 per cent to US$ 1.1 billion (Q3 2010: US$ 785 million) on passenger numbers up 18 per cent to 2.25 million (1.9 million) in the airline’s strongest ever third quarter. Etihad Airways today reported its most successful first half year, with revenues up 28 per cent to US$ 1,720 million (H1 2010: US$ 1,342 million), driven by solid performances in both passenger and cargo activities. A 2 per cent reduction in costs per available seat kilometre, despite large increases in oil prices, also helped deliver a positive EBITDAR (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, amortisation and rentals) in the six months from January 1 for the first time. Abu Dhabi,  Etihad Airways and the Engine Alliance have signed agreements for the purchase of the GP7200 engines to power its fleet of 10 Airbus A380 aircraft and for a long-term Fleet Management Agreement for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the engines.
