Qatar Airways Company Q.C.S.C.  operating as Qatar Airways, is the flag carrier of Qatar. Qatar Airways is one of the fastest growing airlines in the world flying to more than 100 destinations with Doha International Airport as its main operating hub. The airline also operates one of the youngest fleets in the world (an average of  4 years).

Qatar Airways was incorporated in November 22, 1993. The airline commenced its operations on January 20, 1994 using a wet-leased Boeing 767-200ER from Kuwait Airways. It was originally owned by private members of the Al Thani royal family of Qatar. Subsequently was re-launched in 1997, under a new management team. Currently, the Government of Qatar holds 50% stake of Qatar Airways and the rest is held by private investors. 
The airline employs more than 19,000 staff members covering the airline and its independent operating units, with 6,000 of them work for the latter.

Qatar Airways to Introduce Maputo, Mozambique Flight Service via its Johannesburg Route

Qatar Airways Takes Delivery of an Aircraft Recovery Equipment and System

Doha, Qatar Airways has acquired for a value of US$3.2 million a transportable system kit covering a range of aircraft  recovery equipment capable of recovering all types of aircraft including the Airbus A380 aircraft . The kit is manufactured by ResQtec, a U.S. based firm with offices in the Netherlands and Malaysia. The system will be operated by Qatar Aviation Services, a fully owned subsidiary of the airline and manned by a dedicated team. Read More

Qatar Airways to Launch Non-Stop Flights to Tokyo

Tokyo, Qatar Airways announced it will increase flight services to Japan from 28th. October 2012 to twice-daily with the introduction of non-stop flights to Tokyo. The airline currently serves the Doha – Tokyo route daily through Osaka, Japan. Qatar Airways launched flights to Osaka in 2005 its first destination in Japan.   Read More
