The Position:
To ensure that our Business Units receive the appropriate level of service from IT for Projects and Operations, we are looking for a high caliber individual to join our Information Management Department as IT Account Manager.  As the IT Account Manager, you are required to facilitate direct connections between the appropriate Business Unit and IT resources to resolve problems, improve performance, align priorities, to champion a culture of customer focus and customer satisfaction within the IMT Department, and to identify opportunities, recommend initiatives to improve functional performance and to create value through the application of Information Technology.

Key responsibilities:
  • Report IT performance to the Business Unit using business language, ensure that problems and issues are resolved, and that risks are adequately understood and addressed
  • Work with the various forums as defined by the Director IT to communicate relevant information about IT to all levels of the Business Units and to provide feedback to IT. Be the “voice of the customer” within IT
  • Provide the thought leadership, identify and be an advocate for business improvement opportunities, enabled by IT, to improve business performance and achieve sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Assist the Business Units to develop the business cases for IT investments nd to realize the benefits of these investments
  • Lead the formulation of plans for the Business Unit investment in IT that are aligned to their strategy and are consistent with Cathay policies
  • Oversee the Business units’ involvement and resourcing in the implementation of major programs
  • Optimise IT operating expenses for the Business Units
  • As required, ensure that the Head of IT Solutions and the Director IT are promptly notified of any major issues arising
  • Act as the escalation point for all Severity 1 and 2 incidents specific to the Business Units in-scope for the IT Solutions Centre
Job Requirements :
  • Minimum 10 years of IT experience with at least 4 years in managerial role
  • Tertiary qualifications are essential, preferably IT and / or Business at a post-graduate level
  • Experience in business process improvement and handling internal customer demands
  • Good business & IT knowledge and experience in compelling business cases
  • Good knowledge of the business processes
  • Good knowledge of the Information Technology team and processes to allow speedy resolution of issues arising
  • Very strong influencing, facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Outstanding Relationship Management with senior Business Unit Managers and IT staff and an ability to communicate both at the business level and with senior IT staff
