The Position:

The Business Analysis (BA) Practice Lead is responsible for leading and building BA community of practices, implementing and managing the practice’s frameworks, processes and toolsets.  The role is responsible for the alignment and integration of the practice with the other I.T practices including the Architecture, Development, Project Management and Testing practices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve methodologies for the effective development, maintenance and governance of:
  • Business analysis planning & monitoring
  • Requirements elicitation, management & communication
  • Requirements and process design workshops and analysis
  • Business, functional (inc use case) & non functional requirements
  • Define and manage the exception (non-compliance) and escalation process for non-standard architectures and technologies
  • Align the architecture process with the procurement process and assure adherence with endorsed technology standards and architecture decisions
  • Train and support all business analysis such that they have a thorough understanding of the BA methodologies, standards and policies
  • Ensure that employees, contractors, and vendors have the necessary skills to employ the defined BA methods and utilise the specified toolsets
  • Develop metrics to continuously measure and report the progress of implementing the business analysis
  • Improve toolsets for:
  • Business, functional & non functional requirements
  • Use case modelling
  • Business process mapping
  • Train business analysts, in proper usage and content maintenance with the above toolsets
  • Align and integrate the business analysis framework and methodologies with the other practices (Architecture, BPM, Development, Infrastructure, Project Management, Testing, Operations)
  • Facilitate business analysis/BPM governance forums
  • Define and ensure the execution and effectiveness of the requirements review process for projects
  • Facilitate the business analysis recruiting process
  • Support the business analysis content repository to ensure that content is accurate, relevant and up-to-date
  • Manage internal business analysis communications channels (Intracx, SharePoint)
  • Manage and facilitate business analysts practice meetings
  • Coach and mentor other business analysts.
Job Requirements :
  • Minimum 10 years of IT experience with at least recent 7 years in requirements and business process re engineering related position
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related disciplines
  • Experience and domain expertise in service level measurement, vendor quality management etc.
  • Charisma and ability to drive continuous improvement of vendor service to Cathay IT.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build relationship with Cathay strategic vendors.
  • Ability to work with vendors on continuous improvement of vendor performance.Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to coordinate among various stakeholders to drive the outcome.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams with various culture and technology background.
