POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Under minimal supervision, plan, schedule and lead the day to day activities of the Maintenance Tech team. Ensure customer visits are planned with available manpower, tooling, material and other necessary resources.

MUST HAVE AVIATION EXPERIENCE- persons without this experience will NOT be considered.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide technical guidance, OJT and instruction regarding scheduled inspections, routine service to complex maintenance and repair activities on various airframe types.
  • Coordinates assigned technicians to form aircraft teams which will comply with all maintenance activities as stated on the work order, incoming inspection or in a manufacture required service bulletin, CAMP cards, etc. 
  • Assists technicians as needed with advanced aircraft modifications, corrosion, landing gear or engine removals. 
  • Ensures all work is completed per the maintenance manual, service bulletin, Comlux Aviation RSM, FARs or other such documentation. 
  • In partnership with Quality ensure full compliance to all internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements. To include proper sign-off’s, completion of component removal sheets, etc.
  • Leading by example, demonstrate effective maintenance repair techniques using acceptable practices and providing mentoring to junior level technicians.
  • Conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
  • Ensures quality and efficiency of all inspections, service and maintenance work scopes.
  • Create and maintain a safe working environment free of hazards.
  • Openly communicate with and support junior maintenance technicians.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

  • High school diploma or GED. Associates degree in Aviation Maintenance
  • Valid FAA A&P license
  • 8 years of progressive maintenance experience and/or training in the business aviation industry or military.
  • Possess a high degree of leadership abilities to build rapport and motivate a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints and maintenance manuals.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language.

  • Must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing.
  • Have the ability to anticipate problems before they occur in order to mitigate any potential schedule delays or work stoppage.
  • Be a champion of a safe working environment.
  • Leading by example, create an environment conducive to continuous improvement opportunities to reduce rework, downtime, shift turnover issues, etc.
