Job Description:

  • Gama Aviation FZE is currently seeking a currently training or qualified accountant to join the finance function as a accounts assistant, based in Dubai.
  • Working as a small team, you will be responsible for managing aspects of the company’s day to day accounting processes to ensure compliance with the company’s policies, accounting principles and regulations, and the sound running of the accounts function.
  • The candidate will report to the Regional Finance Manager. The role includes liaison with our accounts processing team based in India and the supervision of an accounts junior assistant. The role forms a crucial part of ensuring the finance side of the business in the MENA region runs exceptionally smoothly.
  • The position will not only be accounting for our fleet based in Dubai, but also our FBO function based in Sharjah and our operations in Saudi and Hong Kong
Primary Roles and responsibilities
The role should principally be responsible for the following:
  1. Guiding the accounts processing team in India on the accounting processes to build the monthly management accounts (B/S, P/L and cashflow statements) for submission to the Regional Finance Manager and senior management team
  2. Review monthly management accounts for accuracy and completeness
  3. Assist the Regional Finance Manager in preparing the monthly reports/presentations based on the management accounts
  4. Regular monitoring of balances to ensure entries are correct and that the company strictly adheres to its internal accounting policies and standards
  5. Working with accounts processing team to ensure all finance queries are regularly monitored and resolved in a timely manner
  6. Preparation of all audit files for our annual external audit under the supervision of the Regional Finance Manager. Liaise with auditors and work with SKP on resolving all audit queries ensuring focus on getting an unqualified audit opinion as quickly as possible.
  7. Treasury management support with respect to making payments and reporting of company’s liability and cash position
  8. Working with the accounts junior to ensure creditors and debtors are managed carefully and reporting issues to the Regional Finance manager
  9. Credit card expenses review for all senior management.
  10. Full intercompany review and reconciliation.
  11. Sales invoice processing into the company’s accounting system,Sage
  12. Other ad-hoc finance related queries
Candidate specifications
  1. Qualified (or final stage exam candidate) Chartered Accountant – Ideally ACCA/CIMA/CFA or equivalent / training stages
  2. Fluent English (written and oral)
  3. Excellent Microsoft excel and word skills.
  4. age experience preferable
  5. Strong communication skills (internal and external) and ability to work well with rest of the Gama team.
  6. Min 4-5 years accounting experience. Sound knowledge of core accounting principles, practices and procedures
  7. Be able to multi task and work to tight deadlines
  8. Strong attention to detail and execution focused
  9. Proactive and eager to learn
  10. Be able to communicate effectively orally and over emails, especially to external parties.
  11. Experience of continued personal development, including ongoing training and mentoring to promote a cohesive team atmosphere and enjoyable working conditions
