As an Occupational Health Specialist, your principal responsibilities are: to support both CX and Dragonair (KA) in coordinating and managing the occupational health (OH) and medical needs and developing their OH protocols and policies. In particular, you will be designated as the Programme Leader of the Company Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Programme.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Coordinator - Lead in the implementation, review, continuous updating, tracking, day-to-day management and administrative support provision of the Company Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Programme – policy, procedures, documentation, training, testing, periodic audits, cases management, provision of administration support for AOD Steering Committee, strategies and reporting, compliance with legislative requirements and best practices, random testing programme, global Service Provider Network, Service Level Agreement with global Collection and Testing Agents
  2. Working closely with various internal and external stakeholders in other OH related programmes such as:
  • Attendance Monitoring Programme – working with In-flight Services Department (ISD), to manage cabin crew for extended, repetitive and patterned absence, including periodic meetings with the Leave Team, coordination of Company Designated Doctor assessments, medical specialists referrals, Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) and documentation of Medical Summaries
  • Medical Benefit Plans – working with the Third Party Administrator (TPA), management of daily operational issues regarding medical benefit plans including exceptional approvals, complaint management, case benefit costing estimations, out-of-network case handling, etc.
  • OH Policies and Programmes for all staff including OH committee representation, Emergency & Accident planning, health promotion, outport medical provisions, infectious disease case handling, medical retirement and work injury case management
  • Cabin Crew and Ground Staff Pre-employment exam coordination, fitness to fly, in-flight medical incidents follow-up and investigations as needed
  • Public Health Infectious Disease Outbreak and Crisis Management
  • In-flight Medical Issues including communication protocol with Medaire, in-flight Doctor’s Kits, first aid kits, in-flight medical incident protocols, aircraft water and food hygiene incidents/protocols
  • Passenger Services such as in-flight medical incidents follow-up and investigations, disability and special services handling, passenger complaints, infectious disease notification and contact tracing, MEDA (passenger medical clearance for fitness to fly) requirements
  • Psychological services including employee Assistance Programme, critical incidents management, complex case management and employee training, etc.
Job Requirements :
  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse Registered Nurse of Nursing Council of Hong Kong preferably in Intensive Care, Coronary Care, Emergency Medicine fields.
  • Previous administrative and/or management experience preferred, especially in OH and/or medical claims.
  • Overseas training and work experience are preferred but not a must;
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English. Spoken and written Chinese (Cantonese and/or Putonghua) is an advantage but not a must.
  • Polished interpersonal and communication skills with excellent spoken and written English and ability to interact in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Sound problem solving, planning and organization skills. Able to independently manage and prioritize multiple tasks within defined time constraints.
  •  An assertive, self-assured and patient team-player who can exercise a high level of professionalism and sound judgment at all times.
  • High proficiency in MS office suites is essential.
