The Position:
As an Application Development and Support Lead, you are responsible for the development and support of a designated group of applications within your domain.  This includes understanding how and how well the business is supported by the applications in your area and ensuring the successful delivery of software development with high quality deliverables that are aligned with business vision and goals.  You are also responsible for maintaining high stability of the applications in the production environment, provide proactive maintenance and to meet service level metrics.

Key responsibilities:
  • Delivery of Major and Minor Projects
  • Understand business requirements of major/minor projects and work with the solution arcitect and other IM teams to formulate cost-effective, fit-for-purpose solutions to business problems
  • Ensure appropriate level of resourcing for software development of major/minor projects in the pipeline
  • Lead and manage internal and external development resources and/or vendors to ensure that project deliverables are produced on-time, within budget and with high quality
  • Ensure solutions delivered are compliant to IT policies, standards and practices
  • Collaborate with other IM domains to drive innovation
  • Operational Support of In-production Systems
  • Manage internal and external resources as well as service providers to provide level 2 and level 3 incident support.  Oversee assigned incidents to resolution, support business impact assessment and ensure service level metrics are met
  • Ensure service requests are processed in a timely manner meeting business needs
  • Ensure appropriate level of resourcing to perform release management, deployment management and service transition for applications to the production environment and subsequent application maintenance activities
  • Support service transition management as well as change and release management to ensure that the integrity of the production environment is protected
  • Oversee production systems performance and provide recommendations on proactive maintenance activities
  • Drive and implement initiatives to improve the service quality and customer satisfaction of the production systems
  • Human Resource Management
  • Manage a team of internal and external resources with a core set of skills to enable the organisation to exploit its installed and future technology
  • Develop, motivate and coach staff members to achieve excellent levels of performance.  Assist the Application Manager in developing succession plan
  • Support staff members on career development
  • Vendor Management
  • Manage vendors in the delivery of cost effective and timely systems development and support
  • Ensure vendors’ deliverables are of high quality and compliant to CX policies and standard
Job Requirements :
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience in IT
  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree (or equivalent education qualifications) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Ability to effectively understand business operation and align strategic and tactical work in a well balanced manner
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Good managerial and supervision capabilities
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in managing and co-ordinating multiple IT groups, service providers and business users in application development and support
  • Proven experience in business analysis, software development and vendor management
  • Good understanding of technology concepts, trends and capabilities
