The Position:
Cathay Pacific is now looking for project management professionals to contribute operationally to the achievement of Information Management’s business objectives by delivering project management services across Cathay Pacific technology projects.
Key Responsibilities:The Project Manager is accountable to steering committees / IM Head, Solutions Delivery / Group Programme Manager / Programme Manager to:
- Manage all aspects of an IT project including stakeholder management, solution delivery, vendor selection/management, project controls and reporting
- Review project proposals and collaborate with Portfolio Management and Delivery Teams to determine an optimal solution to achieve business objectives and at the same time drives technology innovation
- Determine the time frame, funding and staffing requirements for project delivery
- Support business owner / stakeholders in the preparation of business case
- Plans, directs and coordinates activities of IT projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters
- Manage the project budget both CAPEX and OPEX, vendor payments and manpower costs and report any variance to the programme manager, steering committees and the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office
- Establish appropriate project quality standards and ensure projects deliverables are capable of achieving the benefits defined in the business case
- Ensure compliance with the Cathay Project Project Management Methodology and practice
- Motive project team members and foster a continuous learning culture throughout the project life cycle
Job Requirements :- Minimum 10 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in project management role
- Tertiary qualifications are essential
- Proven experience in managing projects with ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a cross-functional environment
- Detailed knowledge of the following disciplines: project and programme delivery, portfolio management, application development management, infrastructure development management, vendor management
- Demonstrated leadership potential and with relationship management experience and skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff and to apply skills and techniques to solve dynamic problems
- Technical proficiency in hardware and system software, as well as experience implementing packages and working with vendors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; expertise in setting and managing user expectations
- Ability to influence senior executive
