Job Summary:

  • Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft and engine systems. Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions. Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations. Maintains FAA required records, manuals and inspection forms. 

Responsibilities 

  • Perform all aspects of aircraft maintenance as a crew member from basic to more complex tasks with little or no supervison. 
  • May be required to work with a Technician A&P 1 and provide guidance as needed. 
  • Process inspection forms and sign, as technician, after their work is completed. 
  • Notify proper authority of any suspected unairworthy conditions found during the performance of their duties. 
  • Ensure that all parts received from stock have a proper maintenance release tag, or in the case of a shelf life material, that they are not outdated. If materials are outdated, ensure that they are returned to the stock department for proper disposition. 
  • Ascertain that any precision measuring equipment used, such as torque wrenches, gauges, meters, micrometers, etc., are properly calibrated before using. 
  • Check conformance with approved drawings or approved data. 
  • Must wear personal protective gear when required. Must adhere to the Code of Conduct, current and future company policies and shop rules, safety guidelines, aviation procedures and work in a professional manner. 
  • Participates in in-process data collection and team problem solving. Understands and has applied basic Continuous Improvement tools/principles – 5S, Data-Driven Decision Making, 8 Wastes, Know Your Customer, and Communication Boards. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. 

Experience/Education Required:
Competencies 

  • Ability to use specialized tooling when required. Ability to read, understand, and explain technical data. Ability to use basic and complex hand tools. Ability to perform complex tasks with little or no supervision. 

Qualifications 

  • Own hand tools and a roll around box to complete tasks at this level. Knowledge of basic to complex hand tools and how they operate. Intermediate computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook a plus. Valid drivers license. Flexible to work overtime when required. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. High School diploma or GED required and three plus years related experience. Airframe and powerplant certificate required.
