  • We are seeking expressions of interest from Engineering Managers with experience in leading the mobilisation of the engineering organisation in terms of the allocated scope of asset management activities required for total rail systems and all other assets requiring maintenance such as civil works, stations, viaducts and tunnels. In addition, it is necessary that your experience extends to participating in technical and design reviews during design phases for rail systems and facilities with the operations and maintenance environment plus assisting the assisting management functions to champion O&M objectives.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include the following:

  • Contributing to the successful implementation of the project during the delivery phase
  • Compiling and implementing instructions, specifications and procedures relating to safety aspects and technical stipulations
  • Developing and implementing an effective Asset Management Information System
  • Develop and implement an effective Engineering and Configuration control management system for O&M
  • Successfully implementing new technology, work methods and engineering standards
  • The audit and monitoring of the installation and delivery of assets and systems for compliance to standards and specifications during the delivery phase
  • Supporting the Head of Asset Management to provide technical papers to validate the O&M solution
  • Taking part or leading all technical and design reviews with suppliers to achieve the project technical requirements for design for maintenance, inspection periods, overhaul periods, diagnostics assessments, performance commitments
  • In conjunction with the supply technical representatives and lead engineers for all major systems, actively partake in the technical review process related to whole of life supplier solutions.
  • Implementing and adapting the engineering management strategy for the project.
  • Actively participate in the delivery phase of the project.

Qualifications
It is expected that you will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • At least 10 years of experience in asset management
  • Experience in delivering optimised whole of life technical solutions within an asset management environment
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders and influence others within a commercial environment plus proven negotiation skills.
  • Superior interpersonal, leadership, communication, organisational and negotiation skills
  • Liaison with suppliers and subcontractors of facilities, rolling stock and railway systems within Australia, Europe and Asia
  • Self-motivated
  • Sound analytical and decision making skills
  • Logical approach towards solving issues
  • Proven ability to solve problems not just report them
  • Good communication / literary skills
  • Customer interface and presentation skills
  • Demonstrable experience and skill in setting and achieving personal and team priorities and goals in a dynamic multi-tasking environment
