Job Description :

This role is available to Hong Kong residents or to those who have the right to work in Hong Kong.

As a Systems Analyst, you have to ensure that project requirements are mapped and documented according to IT project delivery methodology and standards, and that the software applications delivered meet business needs.  You will work with various internal / external stakeholders to understand the requirements of major / minor projects, develop project artefacts and participate in / co-ordinate the development work of internal / external resources and software vendors.  You are also required to support the in-production applications to ensure service level metrics are met. 

Key Accountabilities: 

Delivery of Major and Minor Projects
  • Work collaboratively with the internal stakeholders to ensure that requirements are appropriately specified to meet business goals
  • Analyse requirements and assess detailed solution options from a system perspective
  • Support solution design and contribute expertise and detailed knowledge to ensure the technical design decisions are fully supported
  • Ensure the full conversion, creation, alignment, traceability and successful mapping of requirements into project artefacts, including and not limited to functional and technical specifications
  • Ensure compliance with software development methodologies and practice
  • Participate in the execution of Proof-of-Concept activities
  • Manage and participate in software quality assurance activties of the solution components eg. Unit Test, System Test, Code Review etc.
  • Create change plan and change records for the implementation of the solution
Operational Support of In-production Systems
  • Participate in level 2 and level 3 incident support to meet service level metrics.  Manage assigned incidents to resolution and support business impact assessment.
  • Support root-cause-analysis of problems and work with internal / external resources and vendors to deliver corrective / preventive solutions
  • Perform service transition management to ensure all projects and enhancements are delivered with proper transition arrangement and documentation
  • Perform change and release management to ensure the integrity of the production environment is protected and that the correct components are released
  • Identify opportunities to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.  Support the implementation of service improvement initiatives.
  • Process service requests in a timely manner meeting business needs
  • Support service catalogue review in conjunction with Service Management
Human Resource Management
  • Coach / Mentor to systems specialists
  • Promote / Participate in knowledge sharing on project and support experience as well as systems analysis best practice
Vendor Management
  • Review vendor deliverables to ensure quality as well as full coverage and conformance to the specifications
  • Coach the Application Development vendors on development and implementation work

Job Requirements :

  • Minimum 6 years working experience in IT
  • Tertiary qualifications are desirable
  • Solid experience in applying software development methodolgy and techniques in software analysis and design, software development and application support
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work with multiple IT groups, service providers and business users in application development and support
  • Well developed analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify trends / patterns and generate ideas for service improvement
  • Focus on end users’ and customers’ needs and ability to set / manage user expectation
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of technology concepts, trends and capabilities
