Job Description :
  • This role is available to Hong Kong residents or to those who have the right to work in Hong Kong.
  • The Maintenance Control Planning Team in Cathay Engineering is responsible for programming all aircraft maintenance so that maximum commercial utilization of aircraft can be achieved, within the constraints of the Approved Maintenance Schedule.  We are currently looking for a highly motivated experienced engineer to join our team.
  • As a Maintenance Control Planning Engineer, you will be required to strictly control and monitor the scheduled maintenance, thus keeping the aircraft operated by Cathay Pacific, Dragonair and airHongKong in compliance with aircraft maintenance schedules requirements and while maximizing operational efficiency at optimal cost.
Key Responsibilities :
  • Ensure all planned maintenance tasks are in compliant in accordance with Aircraft Maintenance Schedule (AMS), Engineering Order, Minimum Equipment List, and CX in-house requirement
  • Arrange slots for line maintenance tasks generated from AMS, Engineering Order, major components change, aircraft deferred defects, and in-house task requirements.
  • Plan all the lesser checks in HKG and outstations with emphasis on cost awareness and effectiveness
  • Ensure scheduled maintenance activities are supported by MRO’s manpower allocation
  • Proactively monitor all line aircraft undergoing maintenance checks, and take required action to minimise operational disruption
  • Work cross-sectional to ensure maintenance and operational requirements are efficiently met
  • Manage all maintenance tasks deferrals to ensure compliance is not compromised and task life remaining can last to the next available slot
  • Support operational disruption by providing safe, reliable, and compliant aircraft to operation
  • Generate aircraft maintenance and operational status report for management’s information
  • Attend meetings/briefings to highlight significant maintenance and operational disruptions
  • Continuously gather appropriate data and analyze for future improvements
  • Manage budget and cost control
  • Perform other task as may be required by the management
Job Requirements :
  • Degree in engineering or aviation-related discipline (other compatible qualification or experience may be considered)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in aircraft maintenance planning, or 8 years on any aviation engineering role
  • Strong background and understanding of Aircraft Maintenance Schedule
  • Well familiar with Production Planning and Control system
  • Knowledge of aircraft MEL is advantage
  • Preferably good knowledge in CX Maintenance and Engineering systems
  • Able to make sound decision under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills with all customers, all levels internal and external
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Willing to work 12hr Day and Night Shifts, including weekends and holidays
