Job Description :- This role is available to Hong Kong residents or to those who have the right to work in Hong Kong.
- The Flight Simulator Engineering section functions within the Flight Operations Department and is responsible for the acquisition, operation and maintenance of a variety of training equipment, ranging from Cabin Door Trainers through Full Flight Simulators. This equipment is used for training of pilots, flight attendants and engineers for Cathay Pacific, Dragonair and third-party customers.
- We are seeking qualified applicants with keen interest in aviation training technology and desire to develop skills in all areas related to Flight Simulation to join our Simulator Engineering Trainee Programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- To carry out engineering development and maintenance work on various training equipment.
- To work closely with the Simulator Engineers and Assistant Simulator Engineers to develop capabilities through on-the-job training.
- To assist senior staff during emergency troubleshooting and fault rectification.
- To work on in-house project development as assigned by senior staff.
- To carry out workshop repairs as required.
- To attend internal training to learn methods and practices associated with above duties.
Development Path:- The successful applicant to this position may advance from Trainee, to Assistant Simulator Engineer and then finally to the position of Simulator Engineer.
- Assessment can be expected upon entry and at the end of the first and second years as a Trainee, as well as in each of the three years in the Assistant Simulator Engineer position. These assessments will include measures of technical experience and development in addition to regular performance review and peer appraisal.
- Applicants can expect to develop experience in key functional areas within Flight Simulation, including Hardware (mechanical & hydraulics, electrical/electronics), Software, Visual Displays and Regulatory compliance.
Job Requirements :- University Degree in Engineering or Technical path (Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field)
- Must have strong problem solving, teamwork and time management skills
- Must be capable of taking on technical assignments and carrying through to completion, in either team- or individual-tasking situations.
- Literacy in computer programming such as C/C++, Java, FORTRAN and experience in various operating systems is highly preferred.
- Fluency in English and Cantonese required. Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.
