Job Description :
As a Systems Analyst Lead, you are responsible for leading the development of assigned projects from a technical perspective.  You will work with various internal / external stakeholders to understand the requirements of complex, cross-departmental projects and develop project artefacts for software development.  You will leverage internal / external resources and manage software vendors to ensure the software applications delivered are of high quality and meet business goals.  You are also required to support the Development & Support Lead to maintain high stability of in-production applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery of Major and Minor Projects
  • Understand business requirements of assigned major/minor projects, define technical design and ensure that the software applications delivered are aligned with company strategic directions and business goals
  • Identify and document technical constraints, assumptions and risks associated with the technical design
  • Critically evaluate and analyse requirements gathered from various sources, reconcile conflicts and leverage project team members to deliver functional and technical specifications
  • Ensure that functional and technical specifications are fully mapping and meeting requirements as well as the defined solution design
  • Participate in the design and execution of Proof-of-Concept activities
  • Ensure compliance with software development methodologies and practice
  • Recommend / Oversee software quality assurance activties eg. Unit Test, System Test, Code Review etc.
  • Support the implementation of the solution
Operational Support of In-production Systems
  • Participate in level 2 and level 3 incident support as required.  Manage assigned incidents to resolution and support business impact assessment
  • Support root-cause-analysis of problems and work with internal / external resources and vendors to devise corrective / preventive solutions
  • Ensure service requests are processed in a timely manner meeting business needs
  • Support release management, deployment management and service transition for applications to the production environment and subsequent application maintenance activities
  • Monitor production systems performance and provide recommendations on proactive maintenance activities
Human Resource Management
  • Provide mentoring to systems analysts and systems specialists
  • Promote knowledge sharing on project experience and systems analysis best practice
  • Assist Development & Support Lead in developing training programmes and succession plan
Vendor Management
  • Review vendor deliverables to ensure quality as well as compliance to the technical design
Job Requirements :
  • Minimum 8 years working experience in IT
  • Tertiary qualifications are essential
  • Proven experience in SDLC and development methodologies
  • Solid experience in software analysis and design, software development and vendor management
  • Ability to work multiple IT groups, service providers and business users in application development and support
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Good business domain and industry knowledge
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of technology concepts, trends and capabilities
There are multiple openings for this position. It will be an added advantage if you possess any of the following:
  • Knowledge of SQL DB experience including Oracle and ADABAS
  • Knowledge of J2EE, Java, Java scripting and Natural
  • Knowledge of IBM mainframe & Linux platform skills
  • Knowledge of Websphere application server
  • Knowledge of Cognos Business Intelligence
  • Understanding of multi-tiered web application architecture.
  • Understanding of Internet technologies such as TCP / IP protocols, HTTP protocol and proxy servers
  • B2C, Web related, Loyalty or eCommerce related development experience is a plus
  • Experience in multi-channel web application development, e-commerce related or content management systems is a plus
