Safi Airways Receives IATA Membership

Safi Airways, a privately owned scheduled operator based in Afghanistan, has received full IATA membership. The airline obtained IATA’s operational safety audit (IOSA) earlier this year.

Hamid Safi, Safi Airway's CEO, said the is looking forward to the benefits of joining the industry association. Stating airline’s objective will be to partner with other IATA airlines and industry providers.

Safi Airways currently operates a fleet of Airbus A320’s as well as Boeing 757 & 767.  The airline flies, from its Kabul base, to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Delhi, Dubai and Herat.  Safi, in the past six months, has also entered into code-share agreements with Etihad Airways and Gulf Air.

Safi Airways has announced, effective, 1st December 2012 it will commence operations from Kabul, Afghanistan  to Tehran, Iran.
