Wednesday, 24 November 2010
Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has concluded new agreements to provide engine services for 50 of Emirates’ existing fleet of 152 wide-bodied aircraft. Rolls-Royce will provide TotalCare® long term services support for Trent 700 engines powering 29 Airbus A330 aircraft and Trent 800 engines powering 21 Boeing 777 aircraft.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline & Group said: “These agreements will extend the business relationship and strengthen the partnership between the two companies. This will also provide a better platform for effective management of engine life cycle costs and enhanced engine reliability.”

Sir John Rose, Rolls-Royce, Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to announce these agreements with Emirates, a valued customer with three Trent engine family members in service. All are now supported by TotalCare service packages which optimise operational efficiency.”
With a fleet of 152 modern, wide-bodied aircraft Emirates currently flies to 108 destinations in 65 countries from its international hub of Dubai.

TotalCare long-term service agreements, in place on 90 per cent of Trent engines, are designed to minimise customer financial risk and enhance operational performance and reliability, allowing operators to concentrate on their core business.
