Abu Dhabi International Airport Introduce New Services to the Persons with Reduced Mobility

Abu Dhabi International Airport provides assistance to disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility for arrival, departure and transit.
ABU DHABI-  Abu Dhabi International Airport’s announced the introduction of golf carts to passengers with wheelchairs, the golf carts are based in Terminals 1 and 3 to assist in transporting passengers with reduced mobility between the departure and arrival halls, and the aircraft gates.

In recent years, Abu Dhabi Airports has installed ramps, rails, and e-Gates designed for persons with reduced mobility at its airports.

Ahmad Al Haddabi, chief operations officer, Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “Abu Dhabi Airports strives to provide all passengers travelling through Abu Dhabi International Airport with a convenient and hassle free experience. The commitment of all the airport’s partners and entities as well as staff members to deliver world-class services extends to all our passengers, taking into consideration their requirements and needs.

The new specialized golf carts for persons with reduced mobility is yet another innovative service that we will continue to provide to the growing number of passengers and visitors flying through the airport.”

In 2011, Abu Dhabi Airports established a steering committee with the major stakeholders at the airport, including Etihad Airways and the General Civil Aviation Authority,representatives from the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, to discuss the means of accessibility for persons with reduced mobility.
