Alsalam Aircraft Company Wins New C-130 Technical Support Contract

Alsalam Aircraft Company has been awarded for a second time a new contract to provide C-130 technical support services to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF). The contract which is valued SR 545 million, has a period of performance of five years from 1 April 2011 to 30 March 2016.

Within the contract, Alsalam will provide skilled manpower to support and train the RSAF to maintain the RSAF fleet inside and outside the Kingdom. Alsalam won and performed the first C-130 TSP contract for three years from 2008 to 2011. The Royal Saudi Air Force and Alsalam Aircraft Company have a solid working relationship since 1989. Since then Alsalam has provided technical support and Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM) on various of RSAF fleets including F-15, Tornados, AWACS E-3A and KE3-A F-15, C-130 in addition to the RSAF helicopter aircraft .

Alsalam success in these projects has enhanced its position as an Economic Offset Company. It contributes to the country’s strategy to develop self-sufficiency in the field of civil and military aircraft maintenance, overhaul and modification through the transfer of technology and the development of Saudi nationals.

By winning the C-130 TSP contract Alsalam Aircraft Company is looking to open more career opportunities for Saudi nationals and to continue its plans of attracting and hiring Saudis in the aviation industry. Currently, the company employs over 2,700 people nationwide engaging in both civil & military programs and has achieved a Saudization rate of over 52%.
