Rolls-Royce, is to provide Philippines airline Cebu Pacific with long term TotalCare® service support for Trent 700 engines on up to eight Airbus A330 aircraft.The contract will be worth up to $280m. Cebu Pacific will use the aircraft to launch long haul operations in the second half of 2013 and these will be the first Trent engines in the carrier's fleet.
Announcing the selection today at the Singapore Airshow, Lance Y. Gokongwei, President and Chief Executive, Cebu Pacific, said: "The A330s willenable Cebu Pacificto launch long-haul operations to destinations where large Filipino populations reside, such as Europe, the Middle East, Oceania and the United States. The fleet's Trent 700s and TotalCare® service support will therefore be important strategic enablers for the expansion of our business."
