Tuesday, 07 February 2012
London, A J Walter Aviation (AJW ) obtained approval for the International
Aerospace Quality Group’s (IAQG) released revision AS9120:2009 (or
AS9120 Rev A) to the AS9100 standard series by the certifying body Bureau Veritas.
AJW completed the transition project to the new standards within 5 months resulting in full certification to EN 9120:2009 and AS9120 Rev A as from 11 January 2012. The new revisions focus heavily on customer satisfaction, risk assessment, product conformity and process measurement, analysis and improvement using the new ‘Process Approach’ to auditing.
“This transition was made easier at AJW because we already have an efficient and effective customer focused quality management system in place” explains Deryck Stokes, Quality and Health & Safety Manager at A J Walter Aviation. “Maintaining our position as the world’s leading independent spare parts provider requires us to keep one step ahead and ensure that rigorous adherence to all quality standards is managed with the utmost efficiency and transparency, so we are committed to on-going investment in QMS. Our system meets and exceeds the previous standard and incorporates generic customer requirements. Those organisations that have not yet started their transition will be hard pressed to complete certification by July.”
