AAR’s Nordisk Begins Delivery of 900 Lightweight Cargo Containers to Vietnam Airlines

Vietnam Airlines (Vietnamese: Hãng Hàng không Quốc gia Việt Nam) is the national carrier of Vietnam. Founded in 1956 under the name Vietnam Civil Aviation, the airline was established as a state-owned enterprise in April 1989. Vietnam Airlines is headquartered in Long Bien District, Hanoi, with hubs at Noi Bai International Airport and Tan Son Nhat International Airport. The airline flies to 52 destinations in 17 countries.
NORWAY - AAR (NYSE: AIR) announced its Nordisk Aviation Products division started delivery of 900 Nordisk lightweight cargo containers to Vietnam Airlines. The airline has some 2,000 Nordisk containers currently operating in its fleet.

The containers, also known as unit load devices or ULD.

Nordisk has more than 200 customers worldwide with 650,000 ULDs sold. While AAR, with its Telair and Nordisk subsidiaries, produce main-deck and lower-deck cargo systems, baggage handling and freight solutions. 

Nordisk has production facilities in Norway, China and the United States and has spare parts warehousing and sales offices across Europe, Asia and the United States.
