Mesa Air Group Signs a Service Agreement with GE for the CF34 Engines

CINCINNATI, OH – Mesa Air Group signed with GE an OnPointSM solution agreement for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of 138 CF34-8 engines covering a period of 11 years, valued at $350 million for the span of the agreement.
Gary Appling, senior vice president of maintenance and engineering at Mesa, said: "As we continue to expand our operations, we are delighted to partner with GE to provide our long-term engine maintenance.
"As the manufacturer, GE's extensive overhaul capabilities will both ensure superior reliability of our CF34 engines and allow us to continue to be the lowest cost provider of regional capacity.”
Allen Paxson, general manager of GE Aviation’s CF34 product line, added: “GE is very pleased to work with Mesa, which operates an extensive fleet of CF34-powered Bombardier CRJ700s and CRJ900s.
“This airline has continued to grow, and we and our partners look forward to providing OEM-quality repairs and material for their CF34 engine fleet.”
Mesa currently operates 71 aircraft with approximately 396 daily system departures to 77 cities, and recently announced an additional 30 CF34-powered ERJ175 aircraft will be flying for United Airlines.
Mesa operates as US Airways Express and United Express under contractual agreements with US Airways and United Airlines.
