Wednesday, 10 July 2013
GOODWOOD, U.K. – Daher-Socata is exhibiting the TBM 850 turboprop aircraft at the Goodwood Aviation Exhibition at the annual Festival of Speed – held July 11-14 in the U.K.
This aviation show has moved this year to a more central location, next to the Moving Motor Show. It is the second time a TBM 850 is brought to the Goodwood Flying Field. The airstrip was home to Royal Air Force Spitfires during World War II, and has become a pasture that temporarily is opened to a limited number of aircraft attending the Festival of Speed.
Daher-Socata’s turboprop-powered aircraft is able to join other fast transportation vehicles, including sports cars, motorbikes and airplanes on the Goodwood estate for a unique all-motorsports event that is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2013.
Nicolas Chabbert, senior vice president of the Daher-Socata Airplane Division, said: “This is a natural setting for the TBM 850, as the Goodwood Festival of Speed is a place for speed lovers and sleek machines with high horsepower.
“Last year we introduced Elite version of our very fast turboprop at the event, and had contact with many people interested in the TBM 850.”
The TBM aircraft sales in the U.K. and Ireland market, is headed by Mark Diaz, Daher-Socata’s Airplane Division Director of international sales, who also is a TBM demonstration pilot. He is assisted by the team at Aura Aviation – a TBM Authorized Sales Representative based at Oxford Airport.
TBM 850 support in this region is the responsibility of two long-established service centers: ASG Ltd. in Guernsey (Channel Islands) and MCA Aviation Ltd, based at Shoreham Airport (West Sussex).
Since its launch in 2005, the TBM 850 has 315 aircraft delivered as of July 1, 2013. At this date the overall TBM 700/850 fleet – 649 units – has exceeded more than 1.1 million flight hours.
Daher-Socata’s TBM 850 is a single turboprop aircraft, with a maximum cruising speed of 320 KTAS at Flight Level 260 (in ISA conditions). TBM 850 Elite the cabin to host 4 or 6 persons on board.
