Air France Industries and KLM Engineering & Maintenance Signs Boeing 787 Support Agreement with Royal Brunei

PARIS AIR SHOW, AMSTELVEEN, Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) and Air France Industries and KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) have signed a long-term engineering agreement to support the entry into service of RB's fleet of five Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

Under the agreement, AFI KLM E&M will provide RB with engineering services including fleet technical support, component spares and repair services. The Boeing 787 aircraft components will be located by AFI KLM E&M at multiple locations to support RB operations..

Dermot Mannion, deputy chairman of RB stated: "This partnership agreement with AFI KLM E&M is an important step in the entry into service process for our new fleet of 787 Dreamliners. RB is launch customer for 787 in South East Asia. Over time, with the help of AFI KLM E&M, we are targeting to create an engineering centre of excellence for this aircraft type right here in Brunei."

Rob Pruim, AFI KLM E&M senior vp sales international, said: "We are honored with the trust shown by RB, a customer we know well through existing working relationships. This agreement will enable AFI KLM E&M to expand its position by creating a 787 spares pool in the region. We will now be able to support much more effectively the operations of our customers in South East Asia."

Royal Brunei Airlines, is flag carrier of the Sultanate of Brunei was founded in 1974 and a wholly-owned by the government of Brunei.

It has five Boeing 787 Dreamliners on order and will be the aircraft's launch airline in South East Asia. From its hub at Brunei International Airport, Royal Brunei Airlines serves a number of regional and international destinations in Australia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the UK, among others.
