AJW Technique streamlines new centre of repair excellence and is on track to open early 2013
Following a period of intense activity with specialist management, AJW Technique ramps up restart program at Montréal facility to industry acclaim.
It is barely two months since A J Walter Aviation completed its purchase of the component business of Aveos Fleet Performance, yet the transition to a world class repair workshop for modern commercial Airbus and Boeing aircraft components is being fast tracked.
“It was evident to us from our first visit that even though the facility was very spacious there was significant opportunity to improve process flows and enhance operational efficiency” says Greg Martin, general manager of AJW Technique. “The working environment is being streamlined to ensure that throughput is not compromised which will not only assist with delivering the fastest turnaround times, but also contribute to our pledge to deliver measurable benefits for customers.”
In tandem with this, equipment has been relocated or repositioned to optimize repair productivity across the entire facility. “As part of the evaluation we are verifying the capabilities and services we wish to retain so that AJW Technique can offer our customers a clearly defined scope of repairs. This approach is supported by the OEMs who see significant advantage in developing dynamic working partnerships. Everything is being reviewed and assessed and we continue to impress our aviation colleagues with the speed and dedication that underpins our progress.”
