AFI KLM E&M Inaugurates a New Engine Test Cell Facility at Paris CDG Airport

Paris, Amstelveen, Air France Industries and KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M ) announced today the entry into service of a new engine test cell facility located at Paris-CDG airport.

This followed a series of certification trials, to verify its parameters and proper operation, the test cell is now in use on GE90-94 and GE90-115 jet engine types. The new test cell has been approved by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Currently the test cell is in use for GE90-94 and -115 engines, by the end of 2012 it will be in use for the  CFM family and in 2014 for and GP7000 engines.

From 2013, the plan is to have over 300 engines tested using the  new facility, including over 100 very big engines (VBE).
