Resignation of Cargolux President and Chief Executive Officer

Luxembourg, Cargolux today announced that Frank Reimen has tendered his resignation as president and chief executive officer following his appointment as High Commissioner for National Protection by the Luxembourg Government, effective August 1, 2012.The Board of Directors will appoint in the very next future an interim chief executive officer while an executive search for Frank’s replacement has been initiated.
Frank Reimen had been closely involved with Cargolux since his nomination in 2004 as a government advisor with responsibility for the aviation and railway sectors. He became a director of Cargolux in November 2009 prior to being named to the position of president and chief executive officer in January 2011.
Cargolux is a privately owned airline, the shareholders currently are :
- Luxair (43.4%)
- Qatar Airways (35.0%)
- Banque et Caisse d’Epargne de l’Etat (BCEE) (10.9%)
- Société Nationale de Crédit et d’Investissement (SNCI) (10.7%)
Cargolux currently operates 10 B747-400 freighter and 4 Boeing 747-8 freighter aircraft. And is the launch customer of the B747-8 freighter. The two first aircraft of this type joined the fleet in October 2011. The company has another 9 of this new generation aircraft on order.
