Farnborough, China Southern Airlines has selected Rockwell Collins’ DispatchSM Program to service and support its fleet of ten Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The agreement will begin upon delivery of the first 787 aircraft.

Under the 10-year agreement, Rockwell Collins will provide China Southern with guaranteed spares availability, systems configuration updates, technical repairs, and performance monitoring on Rockwell Collins’ comprehensive suite of communications, surveillance, displays and pilot controls systems onboard the 787. The total life cycle solution is coordinated by a dedicated program team.

Scott Gunnufson, Rockwell Collins’ vice president and general manager, service solutions, said, “The trusted relationship built with China Southern over the past several decades enabled our teams to create a Dispatch program for their 787’s which includes creating a pool of spares at their main hub in Guangzhou.

“This solution brings China Southern the highest levels of predictability, reliability and performance for their 787 fleet.”

He Ai Yun, China Southern Airlines’ manager of aviation supplies, maintenance and engineering division, added, “The Dispatch program delivers advantages on cost prediction and reliability improvement for aircraft maintenance, as well as AOG (Aircraft on Ground) support.

“We also expect that the Dispatch program, which we’ll be using for the first time on our 787 fleet, will provide excellent spares support.”

China Southern is the sixth airline to select Rockwell Collins dispatch support for their 787 fleet. China Southern Airlines operates more than 460 aircraft, including Boeing 777, 747, 757 & 737 and Airbus A380, 330, 321, 320, 319, transported more than 80 million passengers in 2011. In August 2005, China Southern purchased 10 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners.
