Colongne/Bonn, Germanwings have announced that with Lufthansa German Airlines they will mutually offer transit tariffs between their flights enabling travelers to combine offers from Germany’s largest airline and its low-cost subsidiary. Passengers may book the combined offers through their travel agents.
Many connections from Germanwings’ new flight schedule may be booked from Dortmund, Lufthansa’s main hub in Munich, to various European and long-haul destinations worldwide. In the future, Lufthansa passengers will, as an example, be able to fly from Hamburg to Thessaloniki in Greece, Zagreb in Croatia or to the Balearic Island of Ibiza, via Germanwings’ hubs in Cologne/Bonn or Stuttgart.
With the announced transit tariffs, flight passengers will check-in their luggage for the whole journey at departure, while having one price for their trip, including transits and return connections with both airline companies.
Germanwings is one of Europe’s low-cost carriers, offering flights to over 90 destinations from its five bases: Cologne/Bonn, Stuttgart, Berlin-Schönefeld, Hannover and Dortmund. The low-cost airline currently has a fleet of 32 Airbus A319 aircraft.
