Fokker Services Obtains Certification for the Integrated Global Navigation Satellite System on the Fokker Aircraft

Hoofddorp, the Netherlands, Fokker Services announced it obtained certification on June the 20th 2012 from European Aviation Safety Agency EASA in Cologne, for the the integrated global navigation satellite system (GNSS) for the Fokker 100 and Fokker 70 aircraft.
According to Fokker Services, with the GNSS system, Fokker aircraft operators may track keeping performance allowing for shorter approaches and lower decision heights, saving time and fuel, lowering carbon emissions and, enhancing safety and schedule reliability. That provides GPS navigation with high accuracy and integrity while retaining today’s full FMS capability.
The Dutch systems integrator combined the inertial navigation data and GPS navigation data to feed into the existing flight management system.
