LUG Aircargo Handling of Frankfurt Secures Rossiya Russian Airlines as a New Customer

Frankfurt, LUG aircargo handling GmbH, the independent ground  service company operating at  Frankfurt/Main airport,  has secured Rossiya Russian Airlines as a customer starting July 1st 2012.

The Russian passenger airline is based in St. Petersburg operates six times a week with a A320 aircraft between St. Petersburg and Frankfurt/Main. 

Wolfgang Korte, LUG aircargo handling GmbH chief executive officer, said, “We expect to handle some 1,000 t of cargo per year for Rossiya.

“Rossiya’s company strategy is similar to ours ― with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and security. This new customer further raises our profile in the international air cargo handling market and strengthens our portfolio of passenger airlines as well as coverage of the Baltic region. LUG also counts Finnair and Air Baltic amongst its clients,” 

Patrik Tschirch,  LUG aircargo handling GmbH key account manager, added, “Rossiya Russian Airlines offers an excellent solution for small express shipments to the north western region of the Russian Federation. St. Petersburg is a major trade gateway, financial and industrial centre of Russia. 

“It is home to a growing oil and gas, shipbuilding, aerospace, automotive, high tech, and machine building industry. In addition, there is considerable trade in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, food, and textiles.”
