Karthago Airlines general manager Hedi Addassi had hopes the merger would be concluded in November 2008 The merging process between Nouvelair and Karthago Airlines was monitored by Rothschild Bank, on. The final conclusion it recommended the  "the independence and integrity of Nouvelair"

In addition, the merging process allowed the entry of the Karthago Group of Mr Belhassen Trablesi which holds a total of 13% of the capital. It is clearly understood that the majority of the capital of Nouvelair Tunisie remained under the control of the private investors headed by the group TTS, the exclusive partner of Thomas Cook  which contributed to the Tunisian tourism growth since the 70’s.

The fleet expansion and  modernization was primarily financed by a number of  international Banks and ECA’s which were eager to sustain Nouvelair acquisitions based on the weight of the company balance sheet
