Dubai Aerospace Selects Teledyne Controls’ FDIMU for their New Fleet of Airbus A320 Aircraft
Friday, 27 November 2009

Dubai, Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) announced today that it has selected Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, to supply its Flight Data Interface Management Units (FDIMU) as a standards option for DAE’s new fleet of 70 Airbus A320 aircraft.

DAE’s customers will use Teledyne’s multi-function FDIMU system to perform flight data acquisition, aircraft condition monitoring and data recording.

“Our FDIMU is recognized as the industry standard and flies on more Airbus aircraft than any other data acquisition units today. Likewise, it’s the system of choice for aircraft leasing companies because their airlines customers more than likely carry our FDIMU onboard their existing Airbus A320/330/340 aircraft. This gives the airline the convenience of leasing aircraft with a common data acquisition system that will reinforce their FDM program, without disrupting it,” said Mark Shoemaker, Teledyne Controls’ Sales and Service Director for the North American region. “We are pleased that DAE selected our solution and we look forward to growing our relationship with DAE to support them and their customer’s data management and other aircraft communication needs.”

“When we selected Teledyne’s FDIMU as the data acquisition option on our new Airbus fleet, we had our airline customer’s best interest in mind to provide an economical and reliable flight management system with multiple functions, including ACMS capabilities to fully maximize our customer’s investment,” said Nicole Goodson, Program Management Director for DAE Capital Advisors.
