Qatar Airways Marks Ten Years of Service to Russia with 12 Weekly Flight to Moscow

MOSCOW, Russia – Qatar Airways, mark the occasion of  10 years of service to Moscow with a press conference and gala dinner, the Doha based airline operates 12 weekly flights to Russia’s Domodedovo Airport. 

The Moscow – Doha route is operated with an Airbus 321 aircraft in 12 business class and 170 economy seating configuration.

Qatar Airways’ flights to Moscow increased from 7 to 10 flights per week in February 2010 and lately in September 2013 from 10 to 12 weekly flights. Russia is also a substantial market for Qatar Executive, the airline's private jet division.

On behalf of the airline, I thank the government, airport and civil aviation authorities in Russia for ten years of continuous support.”

Qatar Airways will be the base operator of the new Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Doha designed to accommodate 24 million passengers annually due operational early 2014, increasing to 50 million beyond 2015.

Qatar Airways currently operate a  fleet of 128 aircraft to 133 destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas.

In 2013, Qatar Airways launched 11 destinations to date – Gassim (Saudi Arabia), Najaf (Iraq), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Chicago (USA), Salalah (Oman), Basra (Iraq), Sulaymaniyah (Iraq), Chengdu (China), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Ta’if (Saudi Arabia) and most recently, Clark Manila International Airport (Philippines).

With following destinations are planned in future: Hangzhou, China (December 20), Sharjah, UAE (March 1, 2014), Dubai World Central, UAE (March 1, 2014), Philadelphia, USA (April 2, 2014), Edinburgh, Scotland (May 28, 2014) and Miami, USA (10 June 2014).
