Gulf Air Resumes Baghdad Flight Operations After Suspension Due to Safety Concerns

BAHRAIN - Gulf Air announced it will resume its flights to and from Baghdad International Airport starting  Saturday 7th February.

The Bahrain based airline announced earlier the suspension of  flight operations to Baghdad from 26th January 2015,  citing safety and security concerns in the vicinity of Baghdad International Airport.

The airline stated it conducted a safety and security assessments over the past week,  consultating with airport and security officials in the Iraqi capital, the airline’s representation in Baghdad and the Bahrain Civil Aviation Authority.

In addition to the three weekly flights to and from Baghdad International Airport, Gulf Air operates daily flights to Najaf in Iraq which was not effect during that period.
