Five Brand New Aircraft Will Join Bahrain Air Fleet within the Coming Months

Manama, Bahrain Air, a private national carrier located in Bahrain and the first Premium service carrier with affordable fares, operating within MENA countries and to the Indian Sub-Continent, celebrated the arrival of Bahrain Air a brand new A320 aircraft bringing its fleet to Five aircraft in total, on May 22nd, 2009 at Bahrain International Airport.

The aircraft was received in Toulouse by Captain Ibrahim Al Hamer, Bahrain Air Managing Director and Captain Ahmed Yaqubi Director Operations and Maintenance and arriving at Bahrain International Airport from Damascus, where it was operated as a commercial flight, arrived 17:50 local time with a total of 108 passengers. The aircraft "A9C - BAV" was welcomed by the Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs Officials, Bahrain Air Senior Management, Travel Agents, and the local media at Bahrain International Airport celebrating the arrival of the flight 2B465.

"This is an historic day Bahrain Air is witnessing, this ceremony marks the arrival of our fifth aircraft moreover a brand new A320," said Captain Al Hamer. "From today, the company's fleet consists of 5 planes, and during the next five months, four new aircraft will be delivered from the Airbus factory in Toulouse. Respectively, the sixth aircraft will arrive on 29 May at the end of next week; the seventh and eighth aircraft will join the fleet by late June, while in October the ninth aircraft will be delivered."

The delivery of this number of aircraft at this time, the record reflects the ambitious of Bahrain Air's expansion in Bahrain, is to keep up with increasing number of destinations that the conduct of Bahrain Air flights to it, and to serve the largest number of passengers flying through Bahrain.

Captain Al Hamer, continued, "With the fifth brand new A320, Bahrain Air will be able to fly to more destinations, and increase the frequencies of the existing destinations moreover providing our passengers with the widest route network in the Middle East and to serve the largest number of passengers flying through Bahrain."

Captain Al Hamer added, "where this mile stone reveals our intentions towards the expansions, as well as the ambition of the company in constant development"

It's note worthy that it has been announced last week of the new destinations the company plans to operate, the Mumbai and Istanbul destinations during the month of June and July the next, and Sanaa, Addis Ababa, Karachi, Lahore, Dhaka and Riyadh, with the beginning of the month of October.

Captain Al Hamer proposed his thanks to all who contributed to the arrival of this new aircraft, in which he thanked and congratulated all company employees for their dedication in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.

It should be noted that this trip lasted approximately 10 hours from Toulouse airport, until the arrival of the Bahrain International Airport, through Damascus international airport, which was through the transfer of 103 passengers.
